29th January 2020

Welcome Back! We are incredibly excited to begin our 40th year here at Braeside! This promises to be a year filled with golden opportunities for all, including the extra special opportunity on the 28th February to celebrate our 40th Anniversary with a free fun fair for the children, followed by a twilight Bush Dance and picnic with the Mucky Duck Bush Band.   This year we will work alongside our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have before!  We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and rigorous work in our classrooms, combined with special events and a plethora of extracurricular activities, to encourage our students to both be involved and stay connected with each other.

We welcome the new members to our town and school community and encourage you all to give them support and assistance if it is required.

Our staff of highly professional educators and support personnel are committed to providing our students many opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. Their preparations prior to the commencement of school have been numerous and we hope your child enjoys their welcome letter from their teacher. We invite and encourage students and parents to work in partnership with us. We look forward to a very positive and productive year together.  We extend a special, yearlong invitation to our families to join us at school activities and events whenever possible.  We want and we value your involvement and support in your child’s education.  Your active participation is key to the success of your children during their school years.

Please know that we highly value home-school communication here at Braeside.  It is vital and plays an integral role in each student’s success.  We encourage you to contact us when the need arises, and to stay in the know about your child’s studies and school activities, as well as other events and happenings. All staff will use the student diary for message communication, some will also use Seesaw app. Administration will again be making use of the SMS message service that we began to utilise more regularly last year.

Again, we welcome you to Braeside and to our wonderful learning community.  Our school is a place alive with much energyenthusiasm, andhigh standard of excellence.  It is, indeed, a place where opportunities abound!  Here’s to an AWESOME new school year as we work together to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!

Kind Regards,

Teresa Wigg
